Ch.11 and Ch 6

Chapter 6
If I get the chance to teach in a classroom in the future I believe that I would rather teach with more digital technologies than have a classroom that lacks digital technology for several reasons. First of all, digital technologies in a classroom are only designed to improve the learning for children. For instance, teachers can use a data projector in their classroom to transfer the information that is shown on a computers monitor to a projector. This allows everyone in a classroom to see what the teacher is trying to show on a computer without having students not being able to see. The data projector eliminates the problem completely; therefore, digital technologies such as a data projector are very beneficial for using within a classroom. Also, mini- laptops have been found to be beneficial for using in classroom as well because they are portable, and less heavy compared to a full size computer. Overall, I believe that digital technologies are a very good to use in a classroom.

Chapter 11
Audio and visual technologies are also important to have in a classroom for several reasons. For instance, some people are more prone to learning when teachers are using these two kinds of technologies. An old audio technology is cassette tapes and earphones. Children can use these items in a classroom by listening to a cassette tape that will read the book out loud while the child follows alone to the tape quietly. A recent audio technology is E-books. E-books have the ability to access an entire library in seconds. Students can not only follow along with one book, but can chose many books and have it right in front to read in minutes.
Second, one highly used traditional visual technologies in classrooms have been a videocassette recorder which is known as VCR’s. Teachers can use VCRs to record videos within their classroom. However, technology has advances in many ways that now there are digital video cameras that take pictures or take videos and can be stored on a DVD that can be played on a CD player or be placed on a computer. Digital videos can even be edited on a computer too. Teachers can record children within a classroom doing presentations and allow the students see what they can approve on when they are trying to give a speech. Specially for speech classes.
